ROYSTON’S GOT TALENT 2015!

It was a beautiful sunny day and lots of people joined in the fun. The event kicked off at 12 o’clock with lots of fun-filled activities on offer including face painting, badge making, Davro the clown, caricaturist, beat-the-goalie, bouncy castles and much, much more!
The main event of the day however and the top of the bill was Royston’s Got Talent 2015! The auditions were open to all ages and what a fantastic response we had with 15 local people performing a variety of acts including singers, dancers and musicians.
A lovely panel of guest judges were also in attendance to offer their expertise. They were the famous River City Star Gary Sweeney (Gabrielle) and Caitlin Gillespie (Christina), Lenny Mullan casting director and actor, known for The Magdalene Sisters ,Neds and Orphans. They were great fun and so impressed with all of the acts who performed. And last but certainly not least, we were so excited to have Tanya McDonald, who hosted the entire event with her wit and charm.
As the level of talent was so high, it was extremely difficult for the judges to choose a winner. However, after much deliberation, they were delighted to announce that in 3rd place Taylor Dollan who sang “Let it Go” from the Disney movie Frozen and she was lucky enough to win a £50 prize . In 2nd place winning a whopping £100 was Ellis James Wright who played a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran’s photograh on the guitar – these girls are definitely destined for stardom!
We were delighted to announce that in first place, and winner of £150 ….. yes you heard right ……. £150!, was13yr old Nicole Tibbs who wowed the judges with her rendition of “Take a Bow ” by Rihanna which was fantastic and well deserving of first place!! The ecstatic winners were presented with their prizes the guest judges who was simply amazed at the amount of talent which had been on display.
