It could be you……we are absolutely delighted to announce it was!

A few years ago we carried out a Feasibility study of all open spaces within the area. The result of the study was that tenants told us they would like to see sculpture, signage and lighting on one of the open spaces at Earlston Place / Roystonhill.

We were very fortunate to secure £15,000 worth of funding from other agencies for the first ‘phase’ of this project (which is almost complete). However, we knew that in order for the second ‘phase’ of the project to be completed we would require further funding.

Spire View Housing Association has been successful in gaining a ten year extension on the exemption of right to buy. This means that you will not have the right to buy your home until 30th September 2022 at the earliest.  It also means that we can continue to provide good quality, affordable housing to those most in need.

This extension does not apply to the following:

  • those with preserved right to buy
  • certain properties in Roystonhill and Tharsis Street (however, cost floor rules apply until 2015)
  • new tenants from 1 March 2011 who will never have the right to buy
  • two recently acquired shared ownership flats at Bright Street
