Royston Strategy Group
The Royston Strategy Group meets every 6 to 8 weeks and was set up to work in partnership to discuss issues in the local area and develop ideas and projects that will enhance the local enviroment for all Royston residents.
Partners on the group include Spire View Housing Association, Copperworks Housing Association, Blochairn Housing Association, Rosemount Development Trust, Royston Youth Action, Rosemount Lifelong Learning, North Glasgow Community Food Initiative, North Glasgow Healthy Living Community, MSPs, local Glasgow City Council elected members, No1 Baby & Parent Support Service, Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, Wheatley Homes Glasgow as well as the local schools.
Led by Rosemount Development Trust, a Vision and Strategy was developed which identified a number of key issues and the group partners work together to try and achieve resolution to these. As well as this, the Vision & Strategy also identified a number of projects that would enhance amenities and opportunities for the community. One of these projects was the Hub on the Hill and Spire View took the lead in bringing this idea to fruition. Another project was the purchase and remediation of the Triangle Site on Roystonhill/ Millburn Street that Copperworks purchased and improved and are now moving forward with the next phase of improvements.
